Vietnam Airlines announced new flight service from Vinh to Vientiane
Vietnam Airlines has just announced to launch a new service between Vinh city (the central province of Nghe An) and the Laos capital city of Vientiane, from January 12, 2014.The need for a Vinh-Vientiane flight route has been evidenced by the sharp increases in the average number of annual passengers(around 180,000 people) travel by road between Viet Nam's north central region and the Laos capital, passing through border gates such as Nam Can and Thanh Thuy in Nghe An Province, Cau Treo in Ha Tinh Province, and Na Meo in Thanh Hoa Province.
This will be the first new international route operated by the carrier in 2014, following the five newly-operated ones in 2013, thus expanding its network to 93 destinations, including 29 international and 21 domestic ones. The carrier is expected to operate four flights per week, on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, by ATR-72 aircraft, on this new route.
The flights will depart from Vinh airport at 8:40am and from Vientiane airport at 10:40am (local time).
